Measure of Success

Positive Parent/Child Interaction

The major indicator for this measure of success is the average number of minutes per day that parents talk or play with their children.

To collect the data, Zogby Analytics was commissioned by TQEE to conduct a new survey of 2,507 Tennessee parents with a child under age 9. However, the survey results — generated by parent self reporting — did NOT align with other more objective national and state level indicators.

TQEE is engaging with national and state experts to understand how best to define and assess this indicator for children birth to age 8. TQEE welcomes partnership with others interested in improving the availability and transparency of data in this area.
