Parenting Fundamentals
What is it?
Parenting Fundamentals is a group-based parent education and skills training program designed to empower parents to prevent child abuse, improve school performance, and strengthen their families. The program teaches positive parenting practices, including connecting with children, effective discipline, supporting academic achievement, and parent self-care. The curriculum is available in English and Spanish.
What is the evidence base?
Parents who participate in Parenting Fundamentals increase their child development knowledge, enhance their communication and problem-solving skills, and use non-violent discipline strategies. The program improves children’s school performance.
