What is it?

Employer-led initiatives are child care benefits that employers offer their employees. These initiatives can include on-site child care centers, employer-sponsored off-site child care programs, child care stipends, subscriptions to online care platforms, child care during nontraditional hours, and resource and referral services. 

What is the evidence base?

Employer-led child care initiatives enhance corporate reputation, boost profits, reduce employee turnover, attract diverse talent pools, and increase employee productivity, well-being, and loyalty. For women, these initiatives increase their participation in the workforce and enable them to sustain their careers. Employer-led child care initiatives help children access nurturing care, which enhances their physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development.
